The development in the IT-industry has reached a pace never seen before. International geo- and security politics are, along with the AI-wave, forcing massive changes on to the market for IT-infrastructure. Some changes are met with excitement – others with skepticism. "First and foremost, we have for a long time wanted to be able to offer a secure, flexible, and Danish-based cloud-solution”, says Søren Henriksen, Executive Vice President in Danoffice IT and continues: “Our goal was to match the flexibility in the functionality seen in Public Clouds, but with security and control intact – and we have fully succeeded in doing so”. The challenge which Søren addresses here is the clients’ concerns about their data and IT-security – and very much also the ability to control their costs. “With the insecurity towards the Public Cloud-market regarding geopolitics and cost-levels, we then saw this as our moment – our window – to take action and offer our clients a cloud-solution with a whole new level of control, transparency, and sovereignty – and even the same flexibility, but at a lower price. We give the client full transparency on where their data are, who has access to them, and on what their services actually cost”.

A strong answer to a difficult market

The recent years’ development has shaped the cloud-solutions market significantly. The movement towards greater freedom, flexibility and transparency has been challenged. With DOIT Cloud we go against this movement, says Niels Vejrup Pedersen, Technology Lead in Danoffice IT. “It has been very important for us to create an alternative to a difficult market”, he says and adds, “The conditions for being a client on the global cloud market – an even the European market for sovereign clouds – are not favorable with long bindings, hard exit terms, and an increasing lack of control of costs. We challenge this head-on with the launch of a Danish-based DOIT Cloud”.

Besides an increased flexibility, the DOIT Cloud is also a showdown with the so-called vendor-lock, Niels explains. “We are offering a decoupling of dependencies because our platform delivers end-to-end in full scale. You do not need a third party anymore”. Søren Henriksen agrees and adds: “Transparency in cloud-economics has become a major factor, and we are responding straightly to that. Here, you can enter and exit with far more flexibility than you normally see on the market”.

A conscious choice

Niels Vejrup Pedersen explains that the choice of technology partner is a strategic choice on par with other business-strategic decisions. “If you want to deliver Infrastructure- and Platform as a Service with high stability, scalability and security, you are forced to make really though-through and long-term choices. We are very concerned about with whom we engage in partnerships, and we are operating at a level, where we have full control of the solution and its development”, he says and continues by emphasizing the business-related win for the clients: “This gives the clients greater agility and faster time-to-market, because we can develop, adapt and operate the solutions without unnecessary elements or third-parties. This creates transparency, simplicity and the ability to act”. Another essential and very current element is the question of sovereignty and data security, and here, Niels ensures, the client can be safe: “The solution is placed and operated in Denmark under our full responsibility – physically, operationally and contractually. The clients are dealing directly with us and has only one, single responsible partner for the sake of clarity, security and a high level of trust”, he says.
