Every year HPE presents one of the IT-industry’s most central events with HPE Discover. A name that obliges, and they know so! That is why HPE Discover today is an express connection to the development of tomorrow, with a pace so fast that even the heaviest of experts get blown away. Our Technology Lead, and highly decorated HPE Worldwide Ambassador, Niels Vejrup Pedersen, here sends us his first impressions.
We Mean It!
The event is still on, when Niels Vejrup Pedersen, Technology Lead in Danoffice IT and Worldwide Ambassador for HPE, talks to us about his first thoughts on Discover 2026. Some of the bigger topics have been teased for some time, but still one message in particular stands out, says Niels:
“It is clear that HPE wants us all to know, that we are acting on our strategy. At conferences there are always a hunt for new things – and we do indeed get that here, but there is no doubt that they are going all in on delivering on last year’s promises”, he shares. “Last year the word, unlock, was omnipresent – and when we see it this year again, it is naturally to signal to the World, that the work is on. We are acting on the strategy – we mean it! With that said, it is not only about delivering, but also about following up and further developing on the strategy. The main keynotes will be setting out new directions, and we are looking forward to sharing that with the World very soon, too”
Agents and Employees On The Same Team
The meeting between real people and artificial intelligence is a huge subject – not only in the IT-industry, but in society in general, and this also goes for the conversations on HPE-ground. “At Discover in 2026 there is a huge focus on Agentic Enterprise – a main topic this year. When we are able to use agents as a resource on the same level as human employees, then we have come far”, says Niels Vejrup Pedersen and continues: “This is a mission we have known for a while, but now we are only missing the last steps until everything is connected. That is why HPE is spearheading this development in order to deliver on this approach – and they need to go through their entire portfolio. It is an enormous journey, HPE is on right now. Luckily, with Greenlake, they have already built a platform which can be used to realize the Agentic Enterprise vision, with everything is connected with AI. It has taken many years of preparation to get to where we are now”.
Talk To Your Server – Not Just Your Network
Being a datacenter specialist of many years, Niels, obviously, is watching the datacenter areas in his constant dialogue with HPE. Also at Discover, and here Agentic Enterprise is central when talking datacenter. “An important message from HPE is, that the term self-driving should not only be linked to networks. With Aruba they have placed themselves in the front on intelligent, self-driving networks, but this should go with everything else, too”, says Niels. According to him the value for the clients with Agentic Enterprise lies right ahead: “When we get that part on board, we will be able to have conversations with our servers. We are talking about the autonomous datacenter, which drives itself – and which is able to take actions on your behalf. This is a really serious next step which will change the game on the datacenter-field”.
Sovereign Messages
Fidelma Russo, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Hybrid Cloud Business unit in HPE, also emphasized in her welcoming speech that governance is a central focus throughout the entire journey, HPE is on right now. Says Niels: “One thing is that you have to live up to a lot of compliance – partly because of AI, too – but how to do so, when things are being automized? Compliance and governance are being integrated in all process”.
And, in case anyone should be in doubt ,whether the large IT-manufacturers are still working on meeting the demands for running businesses in a World of global instability, then rest assured. “Almost like a secondary sentence, delivered with heavy affinity, though, she let us know that HPE continues to work hard on offering sovereignty for their clients. You are cutting yourself from the market if you do not do so. And HPE goes deep here – EU is not enough: They are going all the way down to individual countries. A significant message, if anyone should be in doubt”, concludes Niels Vejrup Pedersen, Technology Lead in Danoffice IT, in his first report from HPE Discover 2026.
Shortly, Niels will return with in-depth views at some of the heavy launches and developments, unfolded at this year’s Discover. We are guessing a closer look at the Agentic Enterprise Strategy? Stay tuned.
