It has been one of the hottest topics in the global IT-industry for quite a while now. However, after a slow ride through the American competition authorities – and even a stop by the White House – it was finally real: HPE and Juniper were to join forces. A unity which heralds new possibilities, ground- and industry-breaking scalability, and more value for the clients. Here, you have our view on what to expect.
Two tracks, one goal
When two universes meet, a lot of attention is drawn. After a long journey through all kinds of authorities, it was clear on July 2, 2025, that HPE’s acquisition of Juniper was approved. The goal is to create the most complete and future-safe IT-infrastructure imaginable. Thus, it is with a certain level of expectation and excitement that our own network expert and Senior Solution Manager, Michael Knudsen, shares his thoughts on the matter. “Everyone has been waiting forever for this, and even though we do not have the full picture yet, then we do know that, for now, HPE and Aruba will continue their tracks – and the same for Juniper. However, the goal is the ultimate cooperation, and the perspectives set out a whole new standard”, he says and adds: “We are now beginning to enter the Juniper-landscape, both with our Danish and European clients”.
New audiences – new possibilities
“With this introduction we now have new possibilities with a whole new target group. Looking at the current demands towards datacenters today, then we will reach a whole new level with a joint HPE and Juniper”, Michael states. Central in the conversation about Juniper is scale, due to their technology aimed at very large environments. “Juniper has some scaling possibilities when it comes to switch technology, which we have not seen – or had – before. In terms of switches and routers they have had a large engagement in the Service Provider segment, which is why we now face performance and scaling-options above what we see from the more traditional players on the Danish market for datacenter solutions”, says Michael Knudsen.
From the clients’ perspective there have always been worries on how the conjunction and compatibility between platforms from different manufacturers will play out in everyday operations – including administration- and orchestration-tools. “Here HPE and Juniper have already introduced the interplay between the datacenter orchestration-tools, Apstra and OpsRamp, and regarding the Access-layer we know that they intent to cross-exchange and cross-develop Juniper MIST and Aruba Central. So, all-in-all, some exciting first steps towards the consolidation of these two hardware and orchestration platforms”, Michael adds.
Juniper in short
For long Juniper has been a prolific act in the market for high-performance networks. With vast market shares outside Denmark, especially in the US, where they are leaders in the segment of large Service Providers, large datacenters, and enterprise networks. With their AI-driven management-tool, MIST AI they now add significant resources and future insurance – and improves scalability.
· Juniper MIST and HPE Aruba Networking Central: Cross-exchange of functionality from two of the market’s leading AI orchestration-tools.
· Marvis: Market leading AI network assistant with proactive monitoring, recommendation, and trouble shooting.
· Datacenter-network solutions with performance matching the need for scalability of the future
· Orchestration-tool which integrates across the entire datacenter
· Hybrid Mesh Firewall solutions – the freedom to choose the right architecture
“There clearly is something topical at stake with Juniper being a part of HPE. The possibilities they bring are fitting very well in the current dialogue we have with our clients regarding future datacenter solutions, and the scalability they need to face”.
How does it all fit in?
“First, we will be looking at the datacenter with Juniper. It makes sense since it is where we are with our HPE clients”, Michael starts when talking future perspectives. “Generally, we are very alert on how does it all fit in right now? We must keep an eye on both the here-and-now picture and on the future. We know that uniform solutions are coming. For example, with access points which are able to mix between MIST AI and Central. Later we will see the security-part from Juniper – and this is really comprehensive since HPE will now step into the firewall-market. So, we are looking towards end-to-end solutions which will bring new possibilities to the market”.
Michael speaks on behalf of the house when emphasizing that he is looking forward to realizing the possibilities with our clients. “We are looking at every way Juniper’s products can be relevant, and how they play together with Danoffice IT’s datacenter and network-setup today. With the investments we have made in recent years on our competencies and our consulting business, we have managed to place ourselves on the top-shelf in HPE’s partner program. These competencies make us able to add value to our clients’ project and to secure that they take optimal advantage of their investments. Looking ahead we will see how Juniper plays out with existing solutions and how it can support new needsJunip, dictated by the market right now”, concludes Michael Knudsen, Senior Solution Manager i Danoffice IT.
