We act where we can. A long-running mantra for our ESG-work in our organization. Every day, we work on improving. On being front-runners in the effort for a more sustainable IT-industry.

Being a global company, we have a big responsibility to live up to, and thus, we set high demands for ourselves. We are therefore proud to share that we have now achieved the ISO 14001-certification in Environmental Management for all of our Danish locations.

An important proof

In 2025, in our global organization we were certified a silver-rating from the acknowledged EcoVadis, placing us in the top 15% globally. As an important proof that we are constantly working on improving our work, even in the smallest details, this new ISO 14001 certification is a strategically important goal for us. We have set five ambitious 2030 ESG goals, and two of these are directed at our work for the environment.

“This label is important to us. ISO 14001 gives us a more structured framework for our work on environmental improvements. A solid system from which we now can analyze our environmental data better. It strengthens our ability to achieve better results from reducing our environmental impact and to set new goals and actions plans for the future”, says Henriette Normann-Ekegren, ESG Manager in Danoffice IT.

Clients' demands

Throughout recent years we have initiated a broad effort for the environment. We have worked on reducing our impact from transport, we have invested in renewable energy, carbon reporting on IT products and much more. And, luckily, we are not alone. We work intensely on advising our clients on their work for the environment, and today we are being met with high demands. It therefore has great value when we are able to live up to this, says Henriette Normann-Ekegren:

“We experience increasing demands from our clients on our environmental work. They are aware of our joint responsibility, and we see them taking this work very seriously. This is a strong proof that a shared movement is real. Thus, it is important for us that we can honor this demand, which is often regarded at this very ISO-certification”,

The right choice

In every organization’s work for the environment, documentation is important. Our strategic goals are our guidelines, but the documentation is the tool to actually improve on our way towards our goals. “With an ISO 14001 certification for Danoffice IT, the clients themselves can now document that they have made a responsible choice. That they have chosen a partner that lives up to environmental laws and regulations and which has obliged on reducing its negative environmental impact”, says Henriette Normann-Ekegren and adds: “By that the client can use their partnership with us in their own sustainability reporting – and in their operational strategies”.

What is ISO 14001?

The international standard for environmental management, ISO 14001, was launched in 1996 and is now the leading Environmental Management standard globally. An Environmental Management system based on ISO 14001 is anchored in the company, its processes and activities, from which it distributes responsibilities and competencies and descriptions of environmental tasks for its operations. ISO 14001 sets out demand for individual parts of the Environmental Management system which should be compliant in order to be certified:

  • Environmental politics
  • Planning
  • Operations
  • Controls and regulations
  • Managements’ involvement.

The environment is not marketing

A certification like ISO 14001 is achieved from hard work. All companies trying to achieve this, must engage efforts in every corner of their organization. This has indeed been the case for Danoffice IT, too.

“Working with certifications like this is a continuous process. We are working in the entirety of our business, and here it becomes clear that this is not green marketing. It takes in-depth actions and detailed documentation and facts. It takes complex audits. This way, credibility becomes a competitive advantage today, because ISO 14001 is a guarantee that we are working systematically on our environmental responsibility – and to live up to this. It has great value to Danoffice IT internally – and to our clients all over the world”, concludes Henriette Normann-Ekegren, ESG Manager in Danoffice It.
