HPE Discover 2025 in Las Vegas has kicked off, and as always, we are in place with a strong team to bring home the most important announcements to you.

Niels Vejrup Pedersen, Technology Lead in Danoffice IT and HPE Worldwide Ambassador is sitting front row and is already now delivering some big datacenter news. News on launches of high-in-demand tools and news on the future for Private Cloud.

Heavy Cloud Launches Lined Up

HPE took a head start on this year’s Discover this May when announcing the full integration of the Morpheus Software in their Privat Cloud-solutions. An effort which – without exaggeration – will revolutionize the way we think about Private Cloud. And we are indeed thinking about it, says Niels Vejrup Pedersen: “Due to the current state of the World, we are all thinking about where we are, and where our data is. Thus, Private Cloud is hot topic. There is a race on Private Cloud similar to the race on AI, and HPE shows us how to work with Hybrid IT in the future”.

At Discover, HPE has now, as expected, presented even more layers as a follow-up to their Private Cloud Business Edition (PCBE) and its integration with Morpheus VM Essentials and Morpheus Enterprise Software. “We were barely in our seats when the big picture got introduced”, says Niels and continues. “The data platform is now labelled the HPE Alletra Storage MP – The Hybrid Cloud Data Platform. A Hybrid Cloud Platform for the future, ranging everything from classic on-premises to integration to Public Cloud. The main-approach is to consolidate and unify things, so they get simpler for the clients to operate. This solution will be relevant to a large part of our Danoffice IT-clients”.

According to Niels, the message from Discover is, that HPE is consolidating in order to have as few products as possible and to present the best possible solutions. “HPE relies on one unified solution instead of a complex mesh of smaller offerings. They are in a transition from being an engineer-heavy organization to being software-driven. This also enables a greater freedom of choice and better competition to everyone’s benefit”.

Breaking News on Simplivity

Fresh in from Discover, Niels also presents a significant addition to HPE’s Private Cloud Business Edition (PCBE). A game changer – breaking news, you can say. “Up until now, HPE’s Private Cloud has been VMware-based, making the solution less cost-effective. This ends now, as on July 31 they are including Morpheus Simplivity with HPE Morpheus VM Essentials, HPE’s own hyper-converged-platform. This makes everything way simpler”.

So, just a month after introducing Morpheus in PCBE, HPE is now announcing PCBE 2.0. The pace is up.

A Much-Awaited Tool

The big question – and an actual barrier to many – has for a long time been the transition from classic VM-infrastructure to other platforms like HPE’s Morpheus VME. “This has really been a showstopper for most companies”, states Niels. “At Discover, the tool we have all been asking for has now been announced. A migration tool – the VME Migration Tool. Now we can batch-migrate large machines with absolute minimal down-time. The perfect tool for an easy transition out of VMware. So very simple and efficient to use”. This announcement is also an example of the fact, that the innovation is thriving within HPE. “HPE now can say, we heard you – we listened. This launch is a direct answer to a high-in-demand feature”.

Product Innovation is Still On

Innovation is, therefore, a central element of this year’s Discover, says Niels Vejrup Pedersen.

“It is on full-throttle on all aspects, actually – and not just around Morpheus. It is clear this year that product innovation has not been forgotten, even though the focus is on the big picture. It is relevant and holds great value for those companies who wish only to use individual products and niche products”, he says. “Years back they mistakenly chose to not include hardware at Discover, but they learned from that. This element of the innovation is relevant, if you are not opting in on the whole platform. HPE is developing at full speed on even the smallest, individual parts, and they know they have to deliver! Their new Migration Tool is a great example of that”.

High Security – High Value

With HPE’s deep focus on the clients, the dialogue is shifting from technology to more on what the value is to the individual company. And, the next new announcement, Niels has chosen, covers both value and security.

“As a central feature in Alletra Storage MP, HPE now presents an integrated Ransomware Protection”, Niels says. Two words combined which should be great news to most, and our experienced Datacenter-specialist is indeed happy. “This announced feature is, again, driven by innovation and demand. The philosophy is an all-in-one-solution, and when now integrating this level of security, the standard is sky-high. The clients are expecting security to be integrated in all products surrounding their data, and as an answer to that, HPE now integrates this in their data-platform”, concludes Niels Vejrup Pedersen, HPE Worldwide Ambassador and Technology Lead in Danoffice IT.
