Until recently, HPE Discover – one of the global IT-industry’s largest events – was divided into tracks. It is not like that anymore, and this was emphasized at this year’s Discover, which has just wrapped up.

Long-time network specialist and Senior Solution Manager in Danoffice IT, Jacob Vittrup was on site. And it was HPE’s approach to embrace all IT, in particular, that impressed him. But why?

An Important Confirmation

If you read Jacob’s recent report from the beginning of Discover 2025, you will know that he had big expectations for HPE to merge and gather things even more, making HPE Aruba Networking and HPE melt together. That was very much fulfilled!

“I was invited to take part in a roundtable. Here I had the opportunity to acknowledge the HPE-delegates for their mission on creating a wholeness with their holistic approach. A complete and whole infrastructure. It is by far the most ambitious and comprehensive mission in the industry. It was maybe not surprising, but it was a very important confirmation”, he says and continues: “If you look at the whole HPE-portfolio today, then you are not looking at network-silos or server-storage silos. This vision is so all-encompassing – it is all about the big picture now. Things must be operated and monitored all-in-one, and that was what fascinated me the most”.

Jacob points out that this development has sped up and HPE is now in the lead. “The wholeness or totality is so complete, where other manufacturers are working more fragmented. Not many years ago Discover, too, was divided into tracks. Of course, HPE is still a leading developer of technology and hardware, but with this new layer of software and manageability on top - the cohesion is complete”.

Next Time, Join Us

But why does this make sense? Why is Jacob so excited for this? He is, because modern-world IT calls for this approach. ”HPE is giving us all so much inspiration on how to operate the entirety of our infrastructure in the future. If you believe that you need a vision for your whole infrastructure, then join us at Discover in Barcelona this December.

There is so much inspiration to gain from. I actually believe that most of our clients would benefit greatly from this insight”.

A quote from Jacob which fulfills his big expectations for HPE Aruba Networking’s announcements at Discover regarding their network management-platform, Central. “In the talk of a more unified HPE, there was, of course, also specific news on network. But their way to approach Central is to keep up with time, actually. Simply, they will release an ongoing stream of releases and additions. We will therefore see what we could call the next generation of Central quite soon. With the development of Greenlake follows the development of Central”, he says.

What Were Lisa’s Connections From 14 to 16 pm Yesterday?

In his recent article, Jacob was expecting AI to be the main theme at Discover. ”That was pretty much spot-on, I must say. Everything was AI”, he says and adds: ”CEO, Antonio Nero did have a very important point, though: He spoke on AI for Networking – Networking for AI. This approach is very important, because the development on network does indeed have two tracks.

”AI for Networking is about manageability. Here HPE announced that Agentic AI will be added to Central. This means that you will have loads of small agents in your network. Obviously, it is still, in the future, a good thing to have network-knowledge, but the network itself will, in large, know everything there’s to know, and it will almost be thinking for itself”, Jacob says. ”I can say to it: What were Lisa’s connections from 14 to 16 pm yesterday? And tell me why she had trouble connecting. Here, the network will not just reply back, but give me both answers, overview and the solution. Much more intelligence will be added to our networks”.

Raw Performance

The other focus, Networking for AI, is about being able to exploit the opportunities with AI. And right here, HPE’s holistic approach is important. Says Jacob:

”HPE is a major act at delivering compute and server & storage for AI. But one must not forget raw performance in order to be able to deliver the muscle power you need. Here, the network is crucial, because the amounts of data that AI will be crushing should be carried safely from A to B. Therefore, HPE has really positioned themselves at the front with the approach that these things are interconnected”.

HPE Ahead of The Game

For long HPE has been in the race on full-stack technology. To make it possible to embrace everything. “This approach was important before, but now it is ultra-important”, says Jacob. “It gives us the opportunity to establish observability within the whole stack. HPE has even changed its graphics. There is no longer a HPE branch and an Aruba branch. There is a unity, and we got that confirmed at Discover”. HPE’s embracing everything was also confirmed with them opening up for third party products in their OpsRamp. “This pretty much underlines the mission. HPE as a manufacturer is standing alone with this mission, and I actually think it is quite wild, that this is now reality”, concludes Jacob Vittrup, Senior Solution Manager in Danoffice IT.
